As we approach the holiday season, we’re in the full swing of things at MCMS!
The past week has been filled with a wide variety of activities. As you are aware, we had a fundraiser to support our science department. The events included a “Biggest Turkey” contest. Sue Sippel, sixth grade science teacher graciously wore her award last Friday. The day was capped off with ten students in each lunch period bowling a frozen turkey across the cafeteria for prizes. Ms. Rappa demonstrated perfect form for a strike! The event concluded with staff members winning a few “tenderized” turkeys. Although the final dollar amount in the fundraiser is yet to be determined, the event was a HUGE success. A special THANK YOU is in order for Gilda Parsons, Judy Wooten, Mary Charles Jenkins and Angie Varner. These PTO members were instrumental in making this such a great time for all.
Last week we tested our eighth grade students on their computer competency skills. Thanks to all families for supporting our kids through this process. Our students were well-prepared with support in their technology classes as well as recent test preparation support in their science classes. Test scores are anticipated to arrive after the first of the year. We’re anticipating some great scores to be posted for MCMS!
Our recent Family Night was a great opportunity for all parents to learn about our teaching teams, curriculum and daily happenings. Thanks to all who took the time to be with us. The spaghetti dinner, sponsored by our Band Booster parents was also a big hit! A special THANK YOU to Chef Patrice Cader!
There are many great things happening in our school, every day. We are definitely in the full swing of things at MCMS. Thanks for your continued partnership,
Sue
